Teen stabbed to death in Downham

THREE teenagers have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

The victim, who has not yet been named, was stabbed in Launcelot Road, Downham at around 4am this morning.

It is believed he died from a single stab wound to the chest but a post-mortem is yet to take place. He was pronounced dead at just after 5am.

The boy's family have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Three teenagers aged between 16 and 18 have been arrested and remain in custody at a South London police station.

Police said they are keeping an open mind about the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death and are appealing for witnesses.
