About Us
South London Press
Queen Victoria was on the throne and Viscount Palmerston, a Liberal, was Prime Minister. The year was 1865 and the South London Press was born.
Today, more than 140 years later, the company is independently owned and continues to publish weekly newspapers, supplements and magazines and runs its own websites. The South London Press is still breaking exclusives week after week and offering online news at www.southlondon-today.co.uk
The paper is proud of its campaigning tradition putting the heart of South Londoners at the top of the agenda.
The community newspaper is part of the democratic structure offering a strong voice to South Londoners.
Reporters work on key patches covering news for the Friday paper’s seven editions; including Forest Hill/Sydenham, Deptford/New Cross, Dulwich, Brixton, Streatham, Wimbledon and Wandsworth, ensuring that what matters most to our readers is covered.
Boroughs covered include Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Wandsworth, Merton and Greenwich. Every Tuesday we provide the latest sports news and interviews, local news, comment, pictures and features.
Both Friday's and Tuesday’s South London Press carry thriving classified, recruitment, property and retail advertising sections.
As a publisher, the South London Press also produces a series of weekly free newspapers that take news, features and advertising directly into the homes of thousands of Londoners.
The South London Press conforms to the newspaper industry's voluntary Code of Practice, administered by the Press Complaints Commission.
